For those unfamiliar with the movie, he drives over a open strip mining highwall with Phil.

Annoying? They are hypocritical psychos. PETA should be designated an eco-terrorist organization, and shut down.

How long has Phil had that gig? The damn Ground Hog is well over 100 years old!! How can PETA say he isn't treated well?

Besides, a robotic ground hog sounds fine and dandy on the surface, but once it becomes self-aware, there are just too many possible scenarios, none of them good I'm afraid.

Indeed. We don't need RoboPhil becoming self-aware and instigating a war against humanity with cyborgs being sent through time to kill the mother of the future leader of the human race.

I don't understand PETA. Saving the whales is a good thing, but a lot of the rest of the stuff they do is crazy.
Must be the BACON lover in me.

As a HUGE animal rights person... I totally agree with you! I personally think they screw themselves over repeatedly with imbecilic and crazy crap like this! Speaking as someone with many years of family therapy experience, I can assure that the groundmonster probably IS treated better than many children.

I really don't want to start a flame war or anything, as I'm simply curious, but what is the general train of thought of animal rights activists when it comes to (human) abortion? To me, it seems as though many, if not all animal rights activists lean to the liberal side of things, and liberals are usually pro-choice, IME. Do animal rights activists hold animals in higher regard than humans?
