I don't like the sport of soccer, but I don't stop by a group of people playing in a park to tell them the sport is stupid.
-Mike | yeah man +1
Although the second part about interrupting a soccer game, I can actually see you doing that

If one only wants to hear supportive feedback, they should start their own blog they can moderate and control who is a member. | There's a difference between respectfully disagreeing and being an utter jerk.
I hate U2 with a passion. If I see a thread on them, the only possible thing I could write would be that I hate 'em. There's no point in me even clicking on that thread. Only negative nancys who need to ruin the mood of a thread can't control themselves and *have* to post something stupid and unnecessary in a thread like that.
If I was told I have an obligation to post in a thread like that, I'd write that they're not my cup of tea. Not that they suck and are the worst band ever. There's a difference in the tone by the language used, too.
Bottom line ; don't instigate negativity for the sake of ruining other people's threads. If you have to disagree, due so in a civilized way.

Again if I start a thread and some one has issues with me, just don't post.
And since this is indeed talk bass, why have a sub forum called OT? | Jauqo, I hope you don't forget that you are one of the TB'ers I admire most of all. I am not suggesting that you leave OT alone because you have done anything wrong at all. I suggested you give it a break because I feel flame wars can get to a person if it bothers you that people don't get your message. At that time, backing away and concentrating on other things can be good for you. I know leaving OT alone was good for me.
If you don't think it would be good for you to disengage, don't do it.

Agreed as well. It seems many posters here like to create controversial threads, then complain when they get the controversy they desire.

Agreed as well. It seems many posters here like to create controversial threads, then complain when they get the controversy they desire. | When I used to start those sorts of threads, I got the feeling some were only in it to irritate and not discuss anything. That said, no one made me start any threads, and I certainly had no say in what anyone else chose to post.
To go back to what I said earlier in this thread, race is super sensitive and it is very hard to discuss across racial groups. I also think a board like this does not lend itself to subtle discussion. I also suspect that the same guy always starting topics about heated subjects is not subtle either.
