According to wikipedia, this is the lineup from the 1974 to 1976 era.
I saw the Friday show here in Austin (they played Thursday as well). Terrific show. Amazing communication/interaction among the musicians. Just a wonderful show. See it if you can. |

My fave RTW line-up. Will miss because of ticket price - which in this day & age really isn't all that bad. $65
2 tix, gas (180 mi ea way), motel, food = my loss.

Same old line-up.
It was AMAZING.
first they play a bunch of songs. Then they take a break and come back and do some solo Improvised sessions. Al is amazing, Stanley is amazing, Chick is amazing...let's just say lenny is getting old. haha.(his whole theory of not moving isnt helping much either) He's still a great drummer.
Me and my friends felt awkward because everyone there was in there late 40's to 60's and we are between 15-18 years old.
It was amazing

What a great, fantastic show.. until Al blew up an amp.. but the roadies quickly replaced it... as the other 3 continued playing as if nothing was amiss.. |

Powerhouse players all around. Lenny took a bit to get going but then the whole band was pretty tight. There were a few tragedies namely Chick's "sticks" during a huge part of Al's acoustic solo. I could do without the audience sing along thing too.
Stanley's playing particularly on acoustic is just amazing. I don't know what else to say. I need to get out of the office and do some shedding after seeing that. |

It was amazing | I was at Houston too, and I'm only in my late 30's, feel better? Great great show and I agree Lenny was not quite as strong as the rest. |

I just recently realized that whenever Chick, Al, or Stanley did a solo album in the mid-70's, they all used Steve Gadd on drums rather than Lenny White. Poor guy must've developed a serious inferiority complex!
Still, I love Lenny's playing & I'm looking forward to seeing the NYC show on August 7th. |

He was still in great form, just much more of a supporting role throughout the show. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
