Revenge Against Loud Neighbor?

So basically this guy next door has his annoying, loud friends over every night to smoke weed. They have no respect for anyone and continue to be loud after numerous times me and my parents have asked them to be quiet. They usually stay out till 2 or 3am when I have to get up at 7. We don't want to call the cops because the guys a drug dealer and we don't want to cause any problems. I don't know what to do and I can't take anymore. We close our windows, use earplugs, and still hear them. So anyways I'm tired taking it, and I want revenge. I googled some ideas but nothing really interested me. I'm on the second floor while they're in their backyard. Any help?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A bass player who doesn't know how to deal with loud neighbor needs more speakers.

but you have to wait until 8 am or so, so they can be in their deepest sleep.

also, if you call the cops, I doubt they're going to point out your house as the caller. Plus, you don't have to give your address.

Go down and ask to hang out with them, and then tell them that their being loud is affecting you and your families sleep and what not, BUT BE NICE ABOUT IT!!. Maybe even bring a pizza. Knock on the door and say "hey it's me, your neighbor from upstairs. You guys are being kinda loud, and we have to get up early, so i was wondering if you could quiet it down a little bit. I also kinda have this pizza with me, and some 2-liters of soda that I'm not using, maybe you guys would want this?". This way you will have a positive relationship with them, and they'll see that you all aren't straight-laced funkillers, you just want some peace and quiet cause you gotta.

Plus, if you bring a pizza, they will love you forever, or at least that night. Trust me. No need to bring the cops into the situation.

i can't call the cops, he'll know it was us. basically my parents are too old for this stuff, they're grandparents and until they sell the house and move, this is what we have to deal with. i just worry about them, especially when my dad tells them to shut up and they dont listen.

and no im not going there to hang out. there is no talkin to this guy, he sells drugs right outside his house, feet away from me. im green friendly and everything, but at least do that stuff inside ur house.

2 choices. Call the cops, or deal with it.

Having experienced this sort of thing now for the past 5 years (next door is a college rental house), there is NOTHING you can do that will end it other than calling the cops over and over again. Even if someone farts too loud over there, call the cops.

In my case, I'm tried asking nicely, I've tried reasoning, I tried explaining that we have kids, I tried bringing over some beers and attempting to hang out and bs with them, I've tried yelling, I've tried cranking my amp up and blasting them out - NOTHING works.
The only thing that even remotely works for me is calling the cops. Of course, the cops come, break it up then leave then 10 mins later I'll have drunken a-holes now shouting stuff at my house challenging me to come out and fight etc etc. So I call them again, and again, and again. Eventually it will work.

Yeah it sounds like a tough one... at least in my case, it's batches of college kids who are only there for a year or so. In your case, you're stuck with the douches.
One idea - do you have any other neighbors who these people are pissing off? Often if you can get a group over there to ask them politely, or have ALL the pissed off neighbors call the cops to make complaints you can avoid them singling you or your folks out.

I would talk to the neighbors and see if anyone else is complaining. I assume that they are outside and being loud. Hopefully enough people in the neighborhood will complain enough to make the cops do something. If its past 10pm most places have noise ordinances. Now if they are in their home, not much you can do but turn up the volume on your TV. If he as dumb as you make him sound, he will slip up soon enough.

Sounds fishy????? You live in Brooklyn, right???? Ok so last time I was in Brooklyn people pretty much live on top of each other and its LOUD 24/7. How are you the only ones effected? He must be annoying someone besides your family. Unless its just how the houses are positioned????
