Rice Cooker

Wow! My buddy owns a music store, I sold some gear to him, he gave me a check for a nice amount of money, 2 sets of Lo-Riders, but the best part is that he bought me a rice cooker!

We talk alot about rice and I was trying to get his advice on rice cookers, so he knew I was looking.

This thing is great!!!!! Making some brown rice right now...

I bought mine in Hawaii, about 15 years ago. We use it all the time - and it's really really good at steaming veggies!

These are AMAZING.
I really should get one to add to my kitchen gadgets, they are so easy to use and the rice comes out perfect

NJL and I have already shared a fine meal together in Manhattan but I believe this would be the first time we would be partaking in rice together. I am excited.

Not really. Most of them come with non-stick pots that come out to clean. Can't submerse the actual cooker, but it never gets dirty.

A Vietnamese girl in our dorm has one, and she cooks for us all the time. I'm definitely getting one next year, they're amazing.

a Bolivian exchange student gave me his when he moved back home and I have used it a bunch ever since! I love it, especially since rice is cheap!
(I even used the cooker tonight for dinner!)
Thats funny you mention steaming vegetables with yours--just to experiment around, I waited until the rice was almost done and then threw in some veggies in the cooker and it steamed them pretty good!

props to the rice cooker

My rice cooker is TINY and it makes 3 cups of cooked rice max. It is perfect. I'll take a picture of it later.

I've still got my little rice cooker from when I was single- without the nonstick coating. And we also have a family size one that's got the nonstick coating.

Awesome.
