i know richard pryor didnt wind up acting in it, but he helped write a lot of blazing saaddles which gene wilder was hilarious in. see no evil hear no evil was good as well. but i really think blazing saddles is one of the funniest movies ever made.

Pryor is amazingly funny.

Especially his stand up stuff!

(plenty avalible on youtube if you havent seen it)

If you like Eddie Murphys old stand up stuff, you'll love Pryors (undoubtably Murphys biggest influence)

Sunday I watched my copy of Richard Pryor LIVE! recorded in 1979. It's just uncontrollable. He went off on that camera guy without mercy. All the people yelling at him. His descriptions of his dogs. Just perfect comedy.

He went through some bad times with crack (i think?)

I think its near the end of "Live on the Sunset Strip", where he starts making fun of how he managed to set himself on fire and end up in hospital for ages

+1 for Stir Crazy.

Hell, +1 million for Richard Pryor in general.

Stir Crazy (or was it Stripes?) was the first R movie I saw in the theater. Great movie!

I must have seen Stir Crazy more than a dozen times. It was a staple time-slot filler for HBO in the 1980s. I couldn't resist watching whenever it was on.

Stripes has Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, also a classic comedy
