Riding a bike hurts my balls...advice?

Sign in to disble this ad
So, a year or so ago I was riding my bike all the time. Old Lefty started complaining the only way he could. So I went to the doctor and he said I had a nodule which isn't really bad, but can lead to cancer.

So, its warm again and I am riding 3-15 miles a day and the pain is starting again. How you you ride without your ball aching? For reference I ride a Giant Yukon (No Not a large Potato ) 24 speed mountain bike.

NO PICTURES for this thread unless they are of a bike or part of a bike.

Sit more forward on the seat. Or......Angle the front of the seat down.........Or......... Have someone that knows what they are doing fit you for a good seat.

Any more forward and I will be sitting on the point :/

Where do they keep the people who know what they are doing? Not at my local bike shops.

i think this is the reason they make those bike shorts they have padding intended to absorb the impact.

Thanks. I have thought about these, and for a while I tried my seat at the most exaggerated forward angle I could. The problem is that I can not jump my bike well without the middle piece....oh well. The balls are more important than jumping.

Turn the seat around so the point doesn't hit your sack., or, buy a seat that is male friendly.

Don't know that model bike to well sooo....

Go to a bike shop and try a bunch of nice saddles and buy the one that fits you the best. Buy padded bike shorts. Make sure your bike is properly adjusted (fitted).

Selle San Marco, Specialized, Bontrager, Selle Italia, Pearl Izumi etc etc make saddles that are either hollow or have gel filled inserts in the area where your taint rests.

My racing saddle is the hollowed out Selle Italia Flite with kevlar sides and thin gel padding. Still very light and reasonably priced (I bleeb they are about $150 now. I got mine many years ago)

Another good comfy saddle is Brooks. They are made of 100% leather with no padding so the seat will conform to the shape of your @$$ like an old glove does to your hand. They are however heavy due to the old school coil spring suspension.

"Think of the actor that portrayed Mr. Belvedere. He was rushed to the hospital for sitting on his own balls."

Take off the seat.
There may be other side effects but at least your balls won't hurt anymore.
