Unbelievable he was only 50!

Comedian Bernie Mac died at Northwestern Memorial hospital early Saturday morning, according to Sun-Times Columnist, Stella Foster. He was 50.

Though the cause of death has not been confirmed, Mac had been hospitalized recently for pneumonia. Foster said that she received calls early Saturday morning from a close friend of the Mac family, confirming the reports of Mac's death.

I can't think of many who did not like him. A gifted comedian & actor.

Pneumonia? He wasn't like 80 and broke a hip or something. This is sad indeed.

Very sad news. I often wondered about the fiesta red Precision hanging on the wall in his TV show character's study.

Wow. I just read yesterday that he was doing well and was expected to recover. Nice call on that prognosis doc.

I'm sorry to hear about this. My heart goes out to his friends and family.

Wow... First my PC drives me to insanity, and now one of my favourite comedians dies.

This has been a bad day.

No, he had a lung condition (sarcoidosis) that made him prone to these things. Could have been, but I doubt it.

THAT is why this is a shocker to me. I'd be somewhat following this story and thought he'd be fine.

Wow.

RIP Bernie Mac...

Thanks for all the laughs...

His publicist said just a little bit ago that Bernie Mac is dead at 50.
