Hi.

There was some talk of her being rushed to a hospital on one of the hmm, less kiddy friendly forums i go to.

I only know her photos, not what she did after the Pin-Up modelling, but that woman has been the inspiration for generations of young boys and men alike.

RIP, Betty

Regards
Sam

Hi

Don't worry, it's the thought that counts.

I wanted to post the devil pose rockabilly pic, but can't find the one where she's wearing a bra, damn .

Without her the bunettes wouldn't stand a chance with blondes. And the redheads don't need to worry about the competition anyway.

Regards
Sam

There is a really interesting movie about her career as a pinup. It is very informative about pinup culture and "men's literature" of the early 1950's. The movie shows her as sort of naive about being a pinup which I find hard to believe. The woman had to have known she had a nice body and that men enjoyed looking at her.

I saw a recent pic (mabey in her mid late sixties) of her standing with pamela anderson and anna nicole smith and though alot older she still looked good you could tell she was a hottie back in the day

seriously? sounds like an urban legend; seems odd someone who had reformed would be denied a post where they encourage others to do the same.

RIP Bettie

The way I heard it was that she was denied for being divorced, not because of her pinup work.

Rest in peace, Bettie!

nope, it's not urban lenged. I saw a documentary where she herself was talking about it ...can't remember the name of it, though, it was a few years ago. I'm sure it was one of those hardcore gone astray from The Book churches.

that's just sad. and we can't get into it due to forum rules. oh well. not saying it's not true, but rather that it's sad if it is.

The movie was The Notorious Bettie Page starring Gretchen Mol. I think it was black and white, and really a cool period piece.

I dug that picture... portrayed Betty Page as this really kind, down to earth chick who let people take retardedly hot pictures of her...

Gretchen Mol's mother was my painting teacher back in high school, and she'd occasionally mention that her daughter was a model (this was back in '95) and I thought I remember her even stopping by one day, though I may be mistaken. Cool movie, and Gretchen is as much a beauty as Bettie Page was.
