If you've ever heard Hank Williams' 'Your Cheatin' Heart' or Patsy Cline's "Walkin' After Midnight" all the way through, you've heard Don Helms. You could not help but.

As they say at the end of the article, now the Drifting Cowboys Band have all gone on.

I admit, I didn't know his name before now, nor did I realize it was the same player on those classic recordings. I agree with the writer, Mr. Helms played a huge role in defining that sound. RIP.
