Bassist and fellow TB'er Jim Calhoun passed away this afternoon. It was very sudden - probably a heart attack. That's all the info I have at the moment.
We're going to have to find a big hall for the musical tribute. Jim worked with pretty much everybody and was loved by all. I know I'm going to miss him.
I'll pass on more info as I get it.

If mods want to close and/or merge this thread (...or not) that's cool

This however is.
It's always a sad day, when a fellow bassist falls under Mr. Reaper's hands.
RIP Jim of TB. God's Speed.

Apparently he was at work in his office. Coworkers heard a "thud" and that's all she wrote.

I never saw the smile leave his face and he never had a bad word for anyone. Why such a great guy had to go so early I'll never know. I know those of us who knew him will carry the essence and inspiration he left us with for a long time. So sad.
Jeff let us know when a memorial gets put together.

We have a web page set up to post more decisive info as it becomes available: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jimcalhoun
There's also a "guest book" there.
