LEROI MOORE 1961-2008
08/19/2008

We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

Rest in Peace Leroi.

Yeh, i can't really verbalise how much I love DMB and how they have influenced the way I approach mainstream music. I hope that they take the appropriate time to mourn Leroi...

Funkydan Im with you, Ive been following the band since the summer of 94.

I just totally related with the lyrics, the musicianship, the vibe of the band.

Im just shocked.. I cant believe Roi is gone.

Stefan is one of my main inspirations and Leroi with his multi instrument talent just pulled that band together. His penny whistle on Bartender is chilling.

Im just sad, who would think you could be sad about someone you never met, but I am..

A fine musician and a really decent human being. He'll be especially missed around these parts.

Well crap.

RIP LeRoi.

I hope they hire Greg Howard in his place. Trying to get another woodwind guy to fill those shoes would be cruel to the new guy. At least Greg has history with the band.
