That is really sad news, especially since she was pretty young.

That's sad. I was just thinking about her a couple days ago as I was listening to my iPod. It was on shuffle, and Queen Latifah's cover of "Poetry Man" came on. Later the same day, up came Phoebe Snow's original recording.

RIP- Phoebe. Probably the most soulful and unique voice of our time. An honorable and brave woman who gave up her career to care for her mentally impaired daughter. An enormous loss for the world of music.

I remember her appearing on the show. About 1975, IIRC.

RIP. Your voice was so sweet. Ever since Poetry Man, I've liked this gal. Sad loss.

There was a photo in today's LA Times of her, Robert Fripp, and Linda Ronstadt on the SNL set in 1979 (looks like it was before the show, or during a rehearsal or something). So I stand corrected on the date.

That is sad news, indeed. I discovered her as a kid. Another great voice gone.

I saw her in '92 at the Wells Fargo Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, CA. She sang Gospel like now one's business.

She was a treasure. We'll miss her.

My favorite Phoebe tune is "Between Old and New York," on Grusin's Nightlines LP. Guess I'm just a sap.
