Thumbs up The Road - EXCELLENT movie!

I just checked out The Road.

I'm a sucker for all things post-apocalyptic and this movie is hands-down the best I've ever seen for that. Might be one of my top ten favorite movies period. If you like your flicks raw and "real", definitely don't miss this.

I don't think I'm spoiling anything by warning that this is NOT your mother-in-law's feel-good holiday movie.

I will be seeing this movie when it comes out in Europe (17th of januari I think). Big fan of Viggo, so I see everything with that guy in it. (Lovev history of violence and Eastern promises)

LOVE the book. I've read it twice now. I missed it when it came through this area (i hate going to movies alone, and ESPECIALLY Indy Theaters). One of my friends said they actually did an amazing job of staying true to the feel of the book and i quote him, "Dude... it was ******* bleak"

The novel was incredible, one of my favorites. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing this.

It has a lot of Oscar buzz about it already. I really want to see it and I hear that Viggo is fantastic and will probably get an Oscar nod.

I saw it pre-release for free, and feel I paid far too much.

Visually I thought it was decent, but the film left me with only ambivalence and I can't imagine a greater failure for a film than to leave someone feeling nothing. Ideas repeated, plausibility totally abandoned many times, characters introduced that had no purpose. Seemed an incomplete mess to me.

My 2c for balance.

read the book, didnt see the movie. one of my top books i have read, and by what reviews i hear, the movie keeps its quality.

if only I am Legend and Shooter could have kept the same quality as the books...
