Roommates suck...

Moved in with 2 dudes I've known forever and a day... Love the guys to death, don't get me wrong.

But dudes, they HAVE BEEN PLAYING THE SAME DAMNED SONGS SINCE WE WERE IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!

And they are all talented guys on their instruments. They have a friend of theirs over right now playing the bass. Those 3 have been saying they are gonna start a band and play shows for years.

Instead, they just record and record and record and never actually finish a song. Then when they decide "we're gonna do something today!!!" They just play the same old weezer, chili peppers, and wilco songs.

And wait... Is that schism? Drummer isn't having it. He is off to go smoke more weed.

I'm not upset by this series of events or anything. Kinda sucks that I can't hear the news, but whatever.

But they have been doing this same thing since we were like 14.

Dude.

Good friends often make crap roomates.

Unless they are cute girls.

But on topic, maybe they like playing those songs?

Well it sounds like the 'hitting the MJ way too hard circular thinking Groundhog Day syndrome. Tell them to get a handle on it before they end up in a basement eating Cheerios and listening to Floyd's - Great Gig in the Sky, forever, and ever, and ever, and ever.

In other news... One of them did by laundry cause we were short on towels and I had like 6 buried in my hamper. Instead of being mean dumping the top clothes to get to the towels, he washed it all and then dumped my clothes on my bed.

If I can train him properly, I may have him shining my shoes by weeks end.

Room mates who play the same songs.

Room mates who hoard towels and don't do the washing up.

Hmm, what one would be more annoying . . .

If the towels don't fold anymore, it starts being a tough choice.

Really. OP, youre complaining about your roommates playing the same old songs theyve been playing forever? You should change the title of this thread. Having lived with several different people as roommates, there are WAY worse problems with having roommates...

Reminds me of 1st world problems...

That is a terrible roommate situation?

First college roommate: Introvert from a small town in Mass. He has the same first name as me. I would try and talk to him, but his conversation did not really grow into anything worth talking about. He played acoustic guitar, but never when I was around. He always listened to his music through headphones. I see the respect in that, but we both were obviously musicians and he kept secluded to himself. Our beds were like 4 feet apart. Awkward. He never had friends come over the room.

3rd year: He was a bassist, but not the most social. I was never in the room, and some reason we just never talked. Lack of communication was lame.

5th year: This time I had an apartment on campus. 2 of the roommates were complete and utter mathematical geniuses. They always kept the dry erase board on the kitchen table. One of them claimed to never use any dishes, he just reused his over and over. So that somehow allowed him to opt out of ever cleaning the kitchen, despite the fact he used all the appliances. He was not tooooo bad. The other one, he was a gigantic manatee of a momma's boy. He NEVER cleaned a damn thing. Not the dishes, not anything. He would let all the pots and pans, and all MY dishes, forks, spoons, knives, cups etc pile up in his room and the BATHROOM SINK. (Apparently if they left the dishes and the such, on their bathroom sink [there were two bathrooms in the apartment] it was okay to not do them). I remember I cleaned EVERYTHING in the kitchen for my super bowl party. All forms of kitchen tools, the fridge, the stove, the walls, the toaster, the microwave, you name it. I come back to the room later that night, that fat piece of ()& *$ # )(*# $ )(#& %@# )(#@ #$ @#$ @#$ & #& @&&@& @#& $^ *@ made home made bbq rib sauce and got the sauce all over the counter, walls and stove and did not clean it. I almost flipped the table. I knew if I would of said anything, I would end up getting kicked off campus. He would also watch me play xbox, and than laugh every time I died in COD. He would try and tell my buddy and I the right way to open a can of corned beef hash. He would get overly excited and bounce on my big beautiful soft recliner. He bounced so much, his fat @$$ broke the quarter inch screw in half and the back of the chair came off. He also told me that he plans on never doing any cleaning, that he will wait for his mom to do it at then end of each semester...... WHILE I was at my graduation ceremony, his parents threw away everything I had left in the pantry. I was graduating, and still had so much of my personal belongings in the living room in boxes. Apparently one of the other parents said it was okay to threw em away since I had left. I never met those parents, who are they to say I left? It was an act of spite. She than offered me his ramen noodles in compensation that have been sitting there for entire year. My mother almost punched her in the face. It was amusing actually. My mom had no idea she was still there, and started screaming; saying such things that no one else pays my tuition and who the &*$# are they to touch my stuff. That woman remained hidden in her sons room for over an hour. I am sure there is a lot more stuff that I had no mentioned. For compensation of my recliner and BS throughout the entire year, I "inherited" several xbox games

Pretty sure that periods are punctuation.

Yeah, this thread would get a whole lot more traction -- and OP would get a ton more sympathy -- if it just said "Roommates suck" and left it at that.

I've lived with several dozen different roommates over the course of my life and I agree 100%: Roommates suck, period.

But playing the same songs over & over? Throwing towels on your bed? (And clean towels at that?) Dude, that is such small potatoes it's laughable. Enjoy it while you can.

Wait until they start committing the same felonies over & over, or throwing dead hookers on your bed.

Some people, despite our general nature, are just not social creatures.
