Does anyone have any good tips on how to roast a good almond? I can't get them anywhere near like the store-bought stuff. I can't get the salt (lightly of course) to stick and I also tend to occasionally burn them. The recipes off the net were fairly similar, so that's what I used. Buying them raw and in bulk doesn't compare to the cost of those little packets you get from a vending machine. Also, almonds are good for you. I also like to roast pumpkin seeds after Halloween.

Fickle. Agreed. I had a look at the double vented quad chamber roaster, they go for about 200 to 300 bucks!

Rost the almonds at medium high heat until nice brown, then add a little water and the salt. Let the salt dissolve in the water, and then rost the almonds a little more while stirring, until they are dry. Add a few drops of tabasco og another hot sauce with the water, if you like the heat.... helps you quaff a lot of beer...

I usually put them on a pan in the oven.

2. Wait.
3. Take almonds out.
Or my favourite:
1. Put almonds in frying pan with a little oil and salt, or butter.
2. Wait. (shake em around a little)
3. Take almonds out.
Has anyone ever had Salt and Vinegar almonds. My friend used to bring them to school in about grade 2, and I have never seen them since. I seem to remember them being the most delicious thing on the planet.
