Since the movie has opend here I am going to see it tommorow, I thought I would add this link to Runaways singer Cherie Currie From all girl rock punk band to chain saw carver...she looks good for her age.....as far as the movie goes I heard Dakota Fanning does an excellent job playing the part of Cherie. Joan Jett, Lita Ford, and the bassist from the Bangles (cant think of her name right now) were all part of The Runaways which is pretty cool. http://www.chainsawchick.com/bio.html |

It's an interesting story to say the least, but I'm saddened that the truth is filtered and distorted in this way. |

Also realize that Jackie wasn't the first bassist for the Runaways (or even 2nd), so writing her out like that doesn't have the overall impact some people are trying to make it out as having. They couldn't obtain her life rights, so they didn't put her in the movie (so Jackie, in essence, brought this on to herself). Jackie also tried to get the movie halted by filing suit against Joan, which Joan counter-suited for.
Something obviously went down between Jackie, Joan and Lita, let alone Cherie. Whatever it was I doubt we'll really know . |

Any "controversy" found there is cooked up by and for people with a specific axe to grind. The real controversy is as thumpbass1 described.
As to what "really" happened between the band members, they had several big fallings-out, which reached a peak a few years ago when the previous Runaways documentary movie was made, and Joan Jett decided she didn't want to be a part of it. Now, when Hollywood is making a glamorized version with starlets, Jett wanted in--and she wanted Jackie out, because Jackie was behind the first documentary.

Don't get me started on how grossly inacurate Caddilac Records was as a movie, in regards to telling the history of Chess Records. |

What it really boils down is that People are Lemmings and they'll consume anything.

The movie will however have a large element of truth behind it, I must concede; even if Joan Jett and Jackie Fox had been fighting in court behind the scenes, while this movie was being made. At least there is some real rock and roll melodrama that went down regarding this film. I've simmered down enough to still want to see it.
At least these bio pics made by Hollywood about famous musical artists and other historical personages of interest, do inspire some folks to learn about what really happened in terms of actual events. It's almost a given that Hollywood writers are going to take creative license with actual events with such films. I will see this movie, knowing full well that, like most bio-historical drama movies, you have to take it with a grain of salt, and go research the facts for yourself, and draw your own conclusions. |

I'll forgive her some ungodlike petty drama. |
