Russia proposes ban on gay 'propaganda'
This is a sensitive topic but it helps to see it from another angle.
In this article, Russian legislators think the GLBT propaganda is detrimental for their society in general especially when it is directed toward children.
If you want to comment, please do so with substantial arguments and also post a short summary in addition to your links.

Do gay guys and gals run around humping each other in front of minors in hopes of turning them to the dark side? Better yet, do they fire pelvic thrust-triggered gay lasers at children? Does the gay army need more rank-and-file foot soldiers to further their attempt to take over the world and make it fabulous? Yes, I know I'm having entirely too much fun with this post . Quote: |

What do you mean by the dark side?
Makes it sound like being gay is evil. |

Might I add the the thread in general. I honestly don't believe that there is a "substantial" argument that can be made FOR this proposal. Looks like simple bigotry to me.

Makes one wonder if it's simply matter of nature itself guiding our subconscious to know that it's wrong.

Unfortunate, but that's how things are in so many instances. Also, a nation being politically atheist doesn't preclude it's government or it's people from superstition and irrationality.

Makes one wonder if it's simply matter of nature itself guiding our subconscious to know that it's wrong. | This is precisely why I chose the initial article. Unfortunately, as soon as one voice an opinion which is contrary to the GLBT usual position, the person is automatically viewed as religious. So by seeing the Russian example, hopefully one would start to ask the right questions and make a bit of research about that issue.

beside, they did not promote a ban on propaganda toward adults but toward children.

| | Supporting Member | | | | | This is simply my opinion...
Since Russia is an atheist state, evolution/natural selection, etc seem to be the major schools of thought over there. Natural selection essentially comes down to passing on your genes through offspring=success. Homosexuals cannot reproduce naturally so its not a helpful lifestyle for the young population to see since no kids can be reproduced for the state's benefit when they get old enough to reproduce if a lot of them are homosexual. This is just my opinion and thoughts though...
