I'll be in Munich this year during the real Octoberfest! |

| | | | anybody else baffled about how the company that makes the amazing octoberfest can also put their name on the horrid abomination that is 'cranberry lambic' they put out in one of those sampler packs? |

I'd much prefer that they released maybe 25% of their new attempts and focused on making them exceptional. IMHO, their Boston Lager and Oktoberfest are probably their best. I enjoyed last year's Summer Ale, but this year's wheat base wasn't quite as crisp. |

I can't imagine they're any good. I'll personally stick with the guys who have had time to refine their craft beers for years. The good thing IMHO is that it shows a sign that Americans are waking up and wanting a beer that has real ingredients and flavor! It's always baffling to me that someone who would drive a HUUUUUGE truck and eat a big 'ol steak would drink such a watered down and flavorless beer. |

I like octoberfests in the fall, but I much prefer the variety of pumpkin ales that come out. My favorite thus far: Southern Tier Imperial PumKing. Like pumpkin pie in a glass.
As far as the cranberry lambic, they're just trying to keep their place in the microbrew market, and they do a decent job, but I'd agree that they certainly aren't the best at those types of beers. |

The types of yeast that they use make it pretty distinctly different from other beers. If you're expecting "regular" beer and get a lambic, you're in for quite a shock! It's one of the least "beery" tasting beers there are. |

They were amazing from the lambic perspective, although hard to duplicate for mass brewing. |
