I would eat every one of them they all look good and I am sure very yummy. Is it because the Hanukkah cake was blue and the Kwanzaa was brown?
Really is that wrong? I don't think so are they not the "colors" of the spirit of the season for those seasons such as Christmas is Red and green? I am not questioning a mod I am asking of these shows that aired ?

Mostly its that she didn't really cook anything.
But also:
She messed up identifying ingredients and amounts (acorns/corn nuts, cocoa/hot chocolate, tablespooon/teaspoon)
To me, she used ridiculous ingredients.
I found it most hilarious from a cooking perspective. The color of frosting didn't bother me...but, if I was going to make something to celebrate Hanukkah, I'd learn a little bit about the holiday before presenting that monstrosity. |

She's an embarrassment to have on the food network (who has rapidly degenerated over the past decade anyway with more and more personalities rather than legitimate cooks who have something to say), and she's promoting the idea that for food to be quick it has to come out of a can.
Anyway, she doesn't write the recipes- she pays someone to write them, then just talks about them on camera. The recipe writer (which is a professional position within the food industry) has freely admitted that she hates the recipes and never liked them, but she gets $100-400 a recipe and Sandra liked them, so there it is. This is common with lots of "food personalities", who really have no idea what they are doing. I can't fault a recipe writer for gaming the system and earning a living.
She makes even the whitest people like me ashamed to be white. |

Martha Stewart, for all her foibles, is actually VERY good at what she does- her perfectionist nature means she has to be. It's well documented that Sandra is ANYTHING but a perfectionist, and really doesn't care much about the craft. Sandra is a very poor, sad imitation who doesn't have any of the qualities necessary to even be a Martha-copy, except maybe a pretty face and a happy voice. |

The cooking skills can be taught, or in the case of Sandra bought.

That she is the one who has more of an effect on the national discourse that someone who is more deserving and, frankly, actually knowledgeable, is what upsets people.
You'd have similar feelings if people's perceptions about jazz were shaped by elevators.
She has no business being a voice for the industry- but this is becoming increasing true with most food personalities. Only a few any more are people that have worked in the trenches, put their time in and actually have a defined perspective and voice.
But then again, I don't think anyone in the industry mistakes her for someone who is interested in the work she does for the food or the culture itself. $$$ is all it is.
