Sauvignon Blanc recommendation?

On the more inexpensive side, widely available brands preferred.

Thanks

Marlborough In NZ is widely reknowned for the new world savs. Check out Montana or oyster bay for cheap well known brands. Cloudy bay and pegasus bay are better if a little expensive.

I'll second the Marlborough vote - I like a brand called Nobilo...strong grapefruit start, with a nice citrus and stone fruit finish. There are also some nice California savs, from Santa Ynez and Paso Robles that rival the pricier Napa and Sonoma wines. The fun is trying them to see which ones you like...

Another +1 for Marlborough, NZ sauv blancs. I've had probably 10-12, and only one has been less than really good. Calif. sauv blancs, by comparison, can be hit or miss.

For $10 a bottle at most grocery stores, Nobilo is hard to beat. My favorite, year after year, is Kim Crawford (typically $15-18, widely available).

Kim Crawford is excellent and that is a good price.

2008 Cloudy Bay Marlborough from New Zealand. $25-27 a bottle. Worth every penny. High scoring wine.

2009 Bogle is good bang for the buck. IMO, best SB comes from Napa.

I found both of these at the grocery by my office during lunch ($12 for the Nobilo, $16 for the Kim Crawford (on sale -$3). Will probably pick them up tomorrow for TGIF celebration.

I tried the Kim Crawford. It was ok. Very tart and also "grape-y". Not sure I like it enough to pay more $12-15 for a bottle.

I tried the Nobilo last weekend. Very good. Had a very similar specific "grape"y? quality but less tart than Kim Crawford. Worth the $12.
