Saying "fart smeller" instead of "smart feller"

Do you still get the same reaction from kids you say this to as your Dad or Grandpa got from you when they said it to you?

As in, "you're a pretty fart smeller".

The other day, I sat my girlfriends grandkids down, ages 7&8 (don't ask, takes too long to explain) and youtubed us some old Benny Hill episodes to watch, and of course, everyone thought it was funny.

I remember my Grandpa watching Benny Hill when we were at his house when we were kids and we all (except for my Grandma) thought it was just funny....although, 35 years later, I get that we were all laughing for different reasons. Also get why my Grandma didn't appreciate the humor so much.

So here we all were, me, age 40, the GF-49, the kids 7-8 and everybody likes Benny Hill. Most of this stuff would be considered "sexist" or at least "controversial" nowdays, but a good time was had by all.

I remember one time, they were in a restaraunt or something and he flipped a grape off his spoon and it landed in some girls cleavage. Another time, it looked like he was peeing in a public park or something bit when he turned sideways so you could see, he was just holding a garden hose. Another time there was a front shot of a barmaid that looked like she had massive breasts, but when she walked away, it turned out to be a couple of old bald guys hiding under the bar.

What happened to humor like this? I really miss it.

Amyway, that guy was a pretty fart smeller.

It made me laugh as a kid.

Its more effective if preceded by a powerfull fart.
Kids will love it!

Yeh fart smeller is classic. My dad used to have a Greek fisherman a hat ( what a goof) and he would say people aren't sure whether he was a Greek god or a GD Greek.

I still think "Pull my finger" is funny. Then again, I pretty much find any kinda fart humor hilarious.

When I was about 11 yrs old, a neighbor boy about 9 yrs old actually WAS a fart smeller. I actually saw him huff one of Bob Swisher's farts right from the seat of Bob's pants. He said, in all innocence, that he liked it. It was unbelievable and...unbelievably gross. First and last time I ever saw such a thing. Good gawd!
