When I got into UNCW's Honors program, along with my acceptance letter they informed me that they would pay my tuition and fees as long as I was in the program. That isn't just part of the program, I'm the only one I know of who was offered that.

Yea. I got a $3,000 bursary that I didn't know I applied for.

I was pissed, because they just took it off my OSAP. I could've really used that 3,000. I have the rest of my life to pay off OSAP.

I got a few academic scholarships in grad school, but they were based on my grades. I never got any "just 'cause" scholarships. In High School and undergrad, I was a 'tard with horrible grades. I hated working. lol. So I never got nuthin'. It wasn't until I started work on my first Masters that I buckled down and actually worked.

Ive never had a scholarship or bursary, just a student loan

A few friends of mine who are going post grad are getting pretty decent funding tho. Most of them are getting tuition covered and about £10,000 next year. One guy i know is getting £14,000 next year, and it increases over the 4 years of his phd. Lucky bas

In grad school I got a couple of $4 200 scholarships. I wasn't sure what they were for at first... they just showed up. I later found out that they were additional scholarships that the university gave for students who came to the school with the NSERC CGS-M scholarship that I had. The NSERC was about $17 500 per year.

Lots of schools do it. They want to fill seats in lecture halls. I'll actually be applying for a scholarship for the upcoming year. Usually I get lucky and get money I don't apply for.

Worked full time during all 6 degrees. Paid more than the scholarships.
