Every time I post an ad on craigslist, I get at least 2 to 3 scammers a week emailing me even if I write "cash only" in the ad.
The only thing that bothers me about it is they never come up with anything original. It's always "I have a son who's a student in Nigeria" or "I have a brother who works at the embassy in Uganda and desperately needs this asap" or some other relative in some other African country and they always seem to offer you way more than the item is worth - I guess because they know their fake "certified bank check" isn't worth a thing!
Anyone have any creative ways to **** with these scammers?

Some lady in a white trash town north of me just lost her entire life savings when she fell for the e-mail saying she could have like $20 million for helping transfer money from the late Honorable Barrister Vonhoffen who died while serving his country. She gave up all her personal info, including bank account info, so they could transfer her the money. A few days later, they cleaned her out and disappeared. They had her on the TV crying and all upset telling people not to fall for the same thing she did.
I honestly could not believe that anyone falls for these e-mails anymore. I didn't feel sorry for the greedy tramp one bit.

I googled the number and found out it was some really creepy business who pressured customers over the phone. So the next time I got their number, I started breathing in the phone real heavy. The guy asked for "Lexi" or someone like that. He soon hung up. Next time, I answered "hello" and it was a different caller, a woman who asked for the same name. I mentioned to her that I was glad that she called me back, and to bring a few jugs of milk home (among other things). She said 'are you talking to me?' and I answered, yes and I never got a call back from them. YMMV
