Dude.. Converge's new album is one of the best releases I have heard in 2009.

You don't know what you're missing.

I missed that show when it rolled through here not long ago. HOF is one of the best metallish bands evar IMO, and the rest of it would at least be fun butt-rock.

I missed it the other night in Philly so I could watch the World Series, possibly a bad move as the Phils blew Game Four. I also had to teach a class first thing Monday morning, and I figured that much metallic intensity might, perhaps, detract from my "scholarly" demeanor.

But at least I saw Converge earlier this year. I had never heard them, but went with a good friend/former bandmate who had been talking about them constantly. Freakin' blew my mind. Those guys are amazing. And I do think the new album is great. I can only listen to stuff like that once in a great while, but at those times nothing else will do.

Enjoy the show!

I saw this a month ago in Calgary.

High on Fire was better the first time I saw them, I thought Converge wasn't very good at all, Mastodon was ok (better when I saw them in May) and Dethklok was good. The venue they were at had some really terrible sound issues which ruined the show quite a bit, and really detracted from my enjoyment of the music.

I'm sad I missed it. here in kc apparently, a lot of guys didn't like converge. I had seen HoF already when they out played opeth, and I'm not a huge mastadon fan. I do regret not seeing dethklok, but I'm sure they'll come around again...

Ahh man, would have loved to have seen that show, but they didn't come near enough to where I live and I don't currently have the means to travel far enough to see it
