I really like Billy Talent, great band with a fairly distinctive sound. Though sadly I've never seen them live. However, I have seen Alexisonfire once and I seem to remember it being a good show.

Have fun!

They were really good until they stared to suck. Anyone want to buy a copy of The Original Cowboy on blue vinly? The A side's only been played once, and the B side's never seen a needle!

Yep, you always remember your first big rock concert. I was fortunate enough to have been given (through a friend's dad) excellent seats to see Jeff Beck open for Aerosmith back in the late '70s. I was 13. It was totally awesome!

BTW, my bf's seen Billy Talent live and said they were excellent. Super tight. I really like their new album, too.

OP, please post your review of Cancer Bats, etc. I don't know the band (yet), but just read a really interesting article on them. Enjoy the show!

Wow. I really, really liked "New Wave." Like, really liked.

To the OP, my best advice is to decide on which concert apparel to purchase after you've seen the various acts. Don't be lured into buying one just because it has profanity written on the back. Make sure the band's good too.

My first propper concert was Big Dat Out. That was an experience I'll do my best not to forget.

Edit: Crowd pic, this was just the main stages.

My first "big" concert was seeing The Offspring back in 2001 (january 17th IIRC).

Was really good fun, AFI were supporting, and it was before AFI started to suck so badly

Cancer Bats put on a phenomenal show! Had the entire crowd screaming along to Hail Destroyer, the mosh pit was huge (would have been in it if I weren't in the purple seats) and they had complete control over the crowd. Very active, great stage presence. If you don't know any of their songs search up: Hail Destroyer, Sabotage and Lucifer's Rocking Chair.

The Darkness supported by The Wildhearts. For a 10 year old, that's a pretty damn awesome gig...

I'll never forget my first 'big' concert. It was reasonably late in my life, as I lived out in the sticks where nary a large touring band goes, as I was 17. The band: Megadeth, the venue: Nottingham rock city and the support was in the form of Diamond Head. It was a great gig with fast guitars but sadly no fast women. The only bad bit was when I lost my glasses to a naked crowd surfer. Sadly a lens came out and the frame broke.

What poked out that lens?

The crowds' feet thankfully. They were knocked off by the guys ankle.

However, I did get a nice eyeful of penis when I have him a boost up (I didn't realise he was naked before I gave him one).

Whew, close one.

The first show I went to by myself was Grand Funk Railroad, with an opening band from England that nobody had heard of, named Yes. I think that was in 1971.

Well thank your lucky stars you didn't get your fist stuck while giving him a boost.
