Selling cars for scrap

I've got a 2000 stratus with a blown head gasket, which would cost more to fix than the car is worth.

I'm curious: How much less money would one get for a car if it were covered in holes/dents from an axe rather than not?

wouldn't make a difference.. how are you getting it to the junk yard?

take off the catalytic converter its worth alot more money when scrapped seperately
take out the radiator same reason as above
take off the tires they deduct anywhere from 50-500 lbs of weight for tires (thats per tire)

No difference at all. A lot of people will right off the bat try to lowball at you at like 50-100 bucks. Don't buy their crap story of how you wont be able to get any more out of it. I got almost 600 collectively for a car similar to yours by scrapping it out myself and selling still usable parts on craigslist like headlights, tail lights, wheels/rims, dash cluster, cd player, seats, you can make a buck on nearly anything you take out of it. It's just all about finding the right buyers so you get your moneys worth.

List it for sale with blown head gasket used cars are more money these days!As long is its not trashed or have realy high miles on it a mechanic can fix it cheep and flip it!I think you could get 500 cash depending where you live now days!Around my part of the country a running car is almost 2 grand now days maybe get one for 1500 but it will be a p.o.s
