Selling a late model car.
Being only 27, most of my cars have been junkers that I bought and sold for under $2500. I've never had a hard time selling them on Craigslist, there's always a market for a good reliable cheap car.
I lived in NYC for several years, obviously a car isn't necessary in the big Apple.
My wife was accepted to Harvard Law School in Boston, which is a huge achievement, and we moved up here a few years ago. We were fortunate that her father bought a new car for us, as a gift.
It's served us well over the years, but she was offered a big fancy job in NYC when she graduates, and we will be selling the car before we go.
It's a 2011 VW Jetta Diesel Wagon, with it's current mileage and condition, KBB.com says it's worth anywhere between $17,500 and $20,404.
I'm not looking for the highest bidder or anything, just looking to get a fair price for it and make it a not so stressful transaction.
With a car worth $2500, throwing it up on Craiglist is easy, $2500 in cash for a car is obtainable for most people.
How does one sell a car worth over $15,000? Not everyone has that kind of cash, and most typically finance preowned cars.
