He's a gamer, just doesn't have the legs anymore.

My wife is gonna be a wreck.

Details...

What type of dog, how old is he, what's his daily life like?

We had to put a cat down a few months ago. He was a great pet with whom I grew up with for 19 years. He sure lived a long and full life so I wasn't sad when he was gone, but I nevertheless miss him.

Saw a clone of him at a pet shop and wanted to adopt him on the spot.

I know how it feels. We also had pets in the house, usually a couple of dogs and cats. My g/f & I currently own a white GSD and she's awesome in every way. She's 10, but looks like a puppy and is 100% healthy.

Sure wish she could live forever. I'll be a wreck when she's gone for sure.

Pets are just a tragedy waiting to happen. I miss my cat I had for 20 years but he had a good life, I dont know if I'll get another one...don't really wanna deal with all that again.

He's a Lab/something mix. 'Bout 11 years old. was hale and hearty up to about 6 months ago, then his wheels just gott super weak. He started falling a lot, and it got harder and harder for him to get up.

As of now, he's a carpet ornament.

Sorry to hear it. I know it will be a somber night tonight. Think about the good times, not the bad ones.

Sorry to hear that man, pets are members of the family that love you unconditionally. I know this will be rough for y'all; celebrate your dog's long and prosperous life

I look at it differently. Giving a pet a good life. The fact that I miss them just means that they were loved and were good cats/dogs.

These little creatures enhance my life. It's rewarding to know that they would otherwise have been put down if it weren't for us adopting them.

I'm considering adopting a kitty & possibly a puppy when we move into a house.

That's pretty much what happened to our lab, she went around the room one night so everyone could pet her, layed down by my mom's feet and went to sleep.

arthritis is common in older labs. it's usually not that they are too weak, just that it really hurts to stand up. Prescription meds are not needed everyday; mine is about 14 an he needs a pill every now and then to get up. Before we got the meds he was in a very similar position as you describe. Now, with maybe 3-4 pills a month, he is back to being himself.

We've gone the meds route. We thought it would do the trick, but they didn't really work for him.

LOL!

A couple of weeks ago we lost our 6-year-old cat to a car running him over late at night (he was an outdoor cat). We miss him terribly, he was such an even-tempered and affectionate cat - when he was awake, his favorite activity was sleeping! You have our sympathies, losing a pet is a traumatic thing.

Our 13.5 year old lab left us on Aug 24th. Despite having dogs in my life for over 45 years, this dog was something else.

I feel so bad for you guys. Big loss.

Always a sad day loosing a pet, but best to not let them suffer or linger.
Our old cat has her good and bad days but her last one is coming sooner than we want.

You have my sympathy and condolences. It's tough to say goodbye to a well loved pet no matter the circumstances.

Google search cleared things up.

Bummer deal bro, sorry.

I kept the collar from our family dog when we put him down. I used to be sad every time I looked at it, now I smile and think about some of the good times we had together chasing ducks in the river or squirrels in the woods.
