Sense of Humor definition...

Sign in to disble this ad
So I posed this question to the girlfriend yesterday and she ducked on it, so I figured I'd toss it out to the TBers here:

Who has more of a sense of humor, the person who laughs or the person who makes the jokes? Why?

The person laughing. Anyone can be an idiot, or even try waaayyyy too hard to make a joke. But if the receiving person doesn't put it together in their head that someone said something funny, then they have no sense of humor.

Having a sense of humor isnt about telling jokes, its about making people laugh, you really don't have to be funny to make people laugh.

IMO, laughing hard at your own joke cancels out any measureable sense of humor. In extreme cases it can suck the SOH from the audience.

Now that's entirely cool. I meant like a lame comic trying to convince a skeptical crowd that he's good. I can tell you're funny.

The laughing one - definitely. My wife is a little thin in the sense of humor department - especially when it comes to anything produced by Mel Brooks.
