I was almost certain it was the entirety of the Ten Commandments written in ole-timey script on the head of a Q-Tip, but now I think it's a pic of a dog scared of his own flatus.

It would appear so, but this is coming from a children's book featuring children of all different cultures engaging in physical activity. SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD there must be a group of people that look like our hopping friend...

I emailed the following message to the book's illustrator, Diane Iverson:

"Hello, Diane! I greatly enjoyed reading your book, "We Like to Move." However, I had a question about the page with the text, "We like to hop." What was your inspiration for that picture? Can you tell me any details on the following?
-The character's striped outfit.
-The barren, sandy environment.
-The moccasins, matching loincloth, and diaper underneath.
-The watermelon that he/she is carrying.
-The character's face paint.
-The cones topped with tassels protruding from the character's head.
-The character's joyful hopping motion.

Thanks in advance!
-Dylan"

I never got a response...

It's OBVIOUSLY a ringtail lemur-themed summer outing.

I mean, come ON.

Whatever it is, it grows french fries on its head, which is pretty cool.
