Shazam for iPhone

Sign in to disble this ad
Don't know if you guys saw the commercial for this iPhone App, but it listens to songs and spits back the title, artist, and a link to download in iTunes in about 15 seconds.

Well, I tried to trick it, I can't.

I played All Summer Long by Kid Rock (which samples Werewolves in London by Warren Zevon) and then played the same part from Werewolves in London, and the thing knew the difference. Incredible.

This thing might know a few more songs than I do. But I gotta say, I'm impressed.

More info: www.shazam.com

Wow, I just threw some live music at it, off Youtube, and it could pick those out too.

I'm absolutely astounded right now.

I haven't found Midomi to be nearly as effective as Shazam. I deleted it and kept Shazam.

Sony had a phone that could do this 3 or 4 years ago. The technology itself is nothing new, it's just been improved upon.

I have Midomi. For 99cents or 1.99 it's pretty damn good. It even nails my sons metal bands and they all sound the same

Midomi isn't free anymore? Another reason to go with Shazam! Or are they charging for that one now too?

Shazam was still free when I picked it up a few weeks ago. Think I saw it still on the Free Apps list yesterday.

It might be, I downloaded a bunch of aps last week, the most I spent was $1.99 Being a direct line to purchase music, it probably is free, my mistake.

I just got my iPhone the day before Thanksgiving......I love it!

I had a similar app on my Samsung Blackjack, but don't remember what it was called........and the Blackjack is no longer with us to find out.

Based on what you guys are sayin', I think I'll have to try out Shazam!

Quick update: Shazam was at the top of the list of free apps under the music category. I just hit the install button!

I've been using Shazam on my iPhone for a few months now. It's amazing. Picks up just about all the obscure jazz that I hear on NPR. And I love how it saves them all with the album covers and other info, so you can go back and browse through everything you tagged when you're ready to pick up a new cd or two (or ten...). It's perfect!
