I just wanted to post that my daughter's service dog, Shenandoah, is celebrating her second birthday today.
I've detailed her story in this thread from several months ago.
She's continued to be an excellent service dog. Yesterday, my daughter wanted to go on the Portland Light Rail train (MAX), so we packed her off with her dog onto the MAX train:
I can't imagine taking my daughter out in public without Shenandoah any more -- the dog just makes it so much easier to get around. No more screaming fits and physically dragging my daughter everywhere.
Happy Birthday, Shenandoah!!!
What a great dog. |

I was too busy in NY at the Sadowsky shop that week picking out the specs for my new bass. |

It's awesome having a companion like this. Happy Birthday to her! |

Happy Birthday Shen!

(Just kidding, Shenandoah is ugly. )
Being an animal friend(I have dog phobia tough ),a vegan for that very reason, and seeing an animal being this way...Its just cool beyond words.
Lots of animals save lives, change lives everyday, yet we treat them so wrong...
Happy birthday Shenandoah.

| | | | Can't help but see the leash between the dog and you daughter and think, " this would really help my wife in public" as she tends to disappear.
Great dog and look forward to more stories of progress.
edit:
Just reread the old thread, this dog is brilliant.

I knew there was no way Shenandoah was only two because I remember the original thread from years ago. Your/her story is definitely THE single best story ever relayed on TB.

Best thing yet: Your daughters life is much improved.
Take care,
