Shipping food

SO I have an odd and random question. I have a friend who lives about 2500 miles away. She is a chili fanatic. I have a chili recipe that actually got me a blue ribbon in a chili cookoff. The first and only cookoff I ever entered. She's asked for the recipe a few times but since it's a blue ribbon chili, I really don't want to share it. Even with a close friend...it's a chili thing. If you don't understand, I can't explain it.

Anyway, I remember a friend in college who said that her dad shipped a pizza to her from her favorite takeout place back in New York. He bought the pizza, froze it or something, and shipped it to her. When it arrived, she popped it in the oven for ten minutes or so and said that it was perfect.

Anyone know how I could ship a tupperware dish of chili 2500 miles without it being funky by the time it arrives? Obviously it would be an overnight shipment. But how would it stay frozen?

Maybe dry ice? I don't know. Looking for ideas.

Dry ice is probably your best option for getting it there without it turning. I recommend talking to whatever shipping company you're gonna use for advice.

Styrofoam containers packed with dry ice shipped overnight seem to be the standard practice.

I ship tamales to FL a couple times a year. I just use a styrofoam cooler, couple ice packs and express ship. The usually arrive still frozen.

Why not just send her the recipe? Or can she not cook? And if thats the case, then why do you know her?

j/k just change 1 of the special ingredients to something similar, but not as good

I got my wife some lobsters that way once. Worked perfect and the dry ice was a hit with the kids.

That's how we ship chocolate in the dead of summer.

Styrofoam cooler, dry ice, and overnight shipping.
