Well, my girlfriend and I took a short 5 day trip to NYC to get some shopping and minor sightseeing done. We had both been to NYC before so tried to avoid doing too many uber-touristy things and instead went to explore different areas of Manhatten. I have taken a few photos that I thought I would share (I actually got a request by PM to do so of all things! ).
This was my first "NYC" photo that I thought turned out well. I wanted to try and capture a few shots that reminded me of NYC:
Times square:
Everybody's pal - the Naked Cowboy
There were lots of Navy and Marines wandering the streets. Here is a shot in Times Square:

We walked over the bridge to Brooklyn and I visited Roger Sadowsky's shop and we had a look around the Park Slope Area. I must say, I really enjoyed Brooklyn and found it to be a place where I could definitely live. Don't worry Americans, I don't have any immediate plans.

We also had breakfast in Balthazar. Kinda cool, but I spend way too much time in France to find French Brasserie style overly funky:
I would highly recommend this little breakfast cafe called Penelope on Lexington and 28th - even if my GF looks bored we both really adored this place!
and of course we had to line up for over an hour to get 4 cupcakes from Magolia Bakery in Greenwich....

Mostly because we should have figured more time to allow my GF to go shopping! Seriously if you are planning on really seeing NYC I would say minimum of 7 days - it really is a place that has so much to see - particuarly if you want to avoid "tourist" sites and hang out in the local areas. A lot of things took up time just walking or waiting for things (like a burger at the Corner Bistro in Greenwich) etc. We are already trying to work out when we can go back there.

Magnolia's is really pretty bad IMO, but still a cult phenomenon sort of and worth the visit. Looks like you did some great stuff. I've probably been to NYC 50 times or more and I don't think I've ever explored much of Brooklyn. I've driven through, but never stopped and walked around. I should do that soon.
p.s. New Yorkers refer to Greenwich Village as 'the village'. In New York, 'Greenwich' means Greenwich, Connecticut.

Send GF to Bloomingdale's, Barney's, Century 21. You guzzle beer with men.
Your man card is on serious warning.
Nice pics. Did you give a 'donation' to the 'hard working'
musician?

In any event, although I don't subscribe to the man card, I am sure it would be revoked for standing in line for an hour to get cupcakes from a stupid shop featured in sex and the city!
Funnily enough we went into Barney's and found it to be the most intimidating high end store ever - far more so than any of the London boutiques or even the single designer boutiques. Man, you need serious money to shop in that place! Century 21 was more to our liking! (haha - not really - it sucked!)
