Seriously, this is not even worth discussing -- I mean, really, who cares! This is just one of those "issues" that gives people who already hate Apple something to complain about

One of my proudest moments was walking into an Apple store and buying an iPod with cash. I felt like P. Diddy.

according to that article, they're refusing gift cards for Ipads? how crazy. They've already been paid, and are refusing the trade for their most popular product.

How dumb.

I know there are some Apple haters here, but seriously, you all don't think Apple has made a few good business decisions?

Is that even legal to refuse U.S. currency in the United States for goods?

i have a feeling that website is a pretty unreliable source. the banner on top reads "the unoffical.." and at that point, i stop caring..

as far as them not liking cash, i knew nothing of this, and i dont see any reason why they'd be like that. the article claims to keep track of limits, but why would they want to enforce a limit on how much stuff you can buy? dont they want to sell as much as they can?

You're behind the times. They are now accepting cash, so long as you sign up for the service in the store.

Really? I don't think so. All Apple, like any other business, is doing is taking offers to do business. Apple can refuse to sell to anyone as long as it is not for an impermissible reason, like racial discrimination.

Earlier the week Apple was refusing to accept cash for the Ipad. That policy was recently changed.

And this is not a rumor this was actually taking place.

Apple said that the reason for not accepting cash(and only allowing two Ipads per purchaser with cc) was to help control piracy.

Makes perfect sense to me. Prevents people from tossing them on ebay for a couple hundred dollars more, similar to when the WII first hit the market and such.

How does this prevent that? If you use your debit or credit card, you can still put them on ebay. Are they also cheaper at the Apple stores than at other stores? Also, what service do you have to sign up for? The reason why I am asking is right now we only own a desktop computer but my wife and I have been discussing getting either a laptop or and I pad in the future.
