They we're both quite good amateur sportsmen, and whenever they appeared in the paper, or on a trophy or something, their initials were written "A.Ness" and "P.Ness".

We all speculated about why his mom (who was presumably named ________ Gregory) decided to name him Gregory. Most of us concluded that either his parents were fantastically lazy or that they had a cruel sense of humor.
We called him Greggreg.

Nothing special there, until you consider he was in the Artillery, and when you're a Corparal, your called "Bombardier" (A Private is called a "Gunner". Other ranks are normal.)
If he had made Corporal, he would have been "Bombardier Bombardier"
He never made it past Private, but even so, it was a bit confusing for the upper ranks at times.

My High School sweetheart's name was Emma Poole. When she told me her first name, the first thing that crossed my mind was "Emma Peel" (Anybody recognize it?)

lucky seven | My favorite horrible name using Holden was a guy I knew in college named Holden McHack. We generally mispronounced it just a little.

My Mom came across some "interesting" names when she worked at a hospital. She has come across even more now that she teaches.
One great one was "Female." It was a girl. |
