Good ol' USA, is this a great country or what .

Oh, I forgot... he makes America a better place for all, just like pro football players and movie stars. We should pay him more.

only 50mil? i thought he'd have made a whole lot more from it. but i guess Don is right, when you combine all the other Idol show's he probably collects just from the initial idea its probably insane. he might be an A-hole but good for him I say.

Simon Fuller is the inventor of the show...

Cowell is just a show host ...

I have never watched it, don't have a tv, dislike media, and especially tv.

But I read a lot, and simon fuller is an interesting phenomena, that dude more or less invented spice girls too ...

I wish I could make that much money humiliating and belittling people.

I'll be the contrary voice here. Simon is my favorite person on the show - he says things that contestants need to hear, and nobody had the stones to tell them before. I agree with him most of the time.

It's funny that people in the US need an English guy to tell you the bad news!!

It's like how the bad guys/villains in many Hollywood Blockbusters are played by English Actors...

I just like watching the X Factor to see Louis Walsh and Simon argue...and Danii Minogue sit there like a jealous old hound next to Cheryl Cole!

Actually that has stopped me watching it, as it is so boring and predictable ...

Never a big fan - but it's just so pathetic how you know that Simon is ging to criticise Louis' choice of song and go on about how he is too old....

I though that the recent spoof by Peter Kay might have put paid to it... it's just such a self-parody now...and if any of the acts were decent artists and wanted it so much - why didn't they get out there and sing in pubs and clubs and build a proper musical career!!??

As Peter Kay showed it's just become a soap opera about who has the most tragic backstory....

Are you surprised that he makes that much?

I'm with Pacman here. What he says is usually what the contestant really needs to hear.
