Tomorrow is Scotch buying day, I'm back at my parent's place and scotch is cheaper!

I'll check if they carry the Bowmore Tempest which I'm curious to try, according to the NBliquor website it's a new addition to the products they carry.

If not I may get an Ardberg, Talisker 10, Laphroaig triple or a Old pulteney 12 if I choose not to spend much. Maybe I'll just get something intriguing to, we'll see. Tomorrow will be a good day

There was sadly no Bowmore tempest and no Ardbeg...

But on the other hand:

Treated myself to a wee (20cl) bottle of Glenfiddich 15yo for while I'm staying at my parents over the holiday season.

There's a fair number of bottles at reduced prices at the moment (right time of year). I may add more in the near future . . .

I'll be getting a few alcohol giftcards so I'll probably treat myself to

I saw a bottle of Ardbeg selling for about $48.00 over the weekend.

Started off this evening with some Bruichladich, then The Dalmore (far far far too drinkable) and capped with a nip of Laphroaig.

All in all, Merry Christmas :-D

My next purchase will probably be Aberlour a'bunadh, but I'm tapped out from the Holidays (and kid's birthday parties in November and January, ugh.). Had it with a bassist friend in Vancouver several months ago and still remember how good it was.

Bought my father a bottle of glenrothes reserve this year for Christmas. Looking forward to having a taste of it tomorrow night. Merry Christmas fellow whiskey drinkers!

Bought my Dad and I a Macallan 18. He will only have a dram with me, so I figured I'd get the better of what the local store had. It's some tasty single malt, just a little over priced for how common it is.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays guys!

I'm an Scottish Island addict....Islay, Skye or Jura. Talisker 10 still stands at the top of my list. I love Ardbeg and Lagavulin and Laphroig and Bowmore. I have never tried Bruichladdich and will make a NY resolution to do it in 2013. What are other island scotches I'm missing?

Jura make some nice malts, but the 10 and 12 aren't all that great.

Highland Park is a good quality and reasonably priced malt.

Caol Ila are very nice and underated.

Bunnahabhain make a good.

You might also like some of the coastal malts like Old Pulteney.

I received Jim Murray's Whiskey Bible 2013 for Christmas...it's fun looking at the ratings of different drams I've had.

It is! I unfortunately forgot mine at my apartment, so I'm going scotch shopping blind tomorrow.

I'm hoping they'll have one of the followings: Old Pulteney 21, Highland Park 18 (maybe 25 if I go nuts), Laphroaig 18 or the Lagavulin Distiller's edition. I know they sadly do not carry any Ardbeg products.

I got an alcohol gift-card

Just picked up a bottle of Glenlivet 15 for my old man for Christmas. I'm looking forward to partaking in that bottle with him.

Sorry to barge in and split your thread but I'm going to barge in and split your thread. The servers don't like it when we go over a thousand posts. (Or do the new servers not care? Oh well - better safe than sorry.)

Continued here.
