I did not think that things could get worse than having a credit card get declined during vacation, I was wrong.
I am not able to buy sinus medication because I do not hold a US ID anymore. This is because the DEA has made it a controlled substance because it is an ingredient to make meth.
What about making drano or even matches a controlled substance? Better yet, make it next to impossible to get brake fluid... |

Thing is, the druggies figured out how to be more efficient (also more dangerous) and don't need to buy such large quantities any more.

As to the effectiveness of the DEA policy, it has not cut down meth use, but meth labs are not as locally prominent as they were 10 years ago. |

It was the FDA that did it, not the DEA.

The rules around here only let you purchase 1 pill per day up to a maximum of 30-35 pills/month. Normally, this isn't a big deal, but when allergy season hits and both my wife and I need some decongestant, it is. Say I go grocery shopping and pick up a 15 pack at the pharmacy. Great, we've got booger pills for a week.
When I go back the next week, I can't buy more because 15 days have not elapsed yet there is only 1 pill to last 2 people for a week.
Sure, there are ways to get around this. I can ask my wife to do the food shopping that week, or just go to a different store (Wow! Bullet-proof system they've got in place) but that's not the point. The point is that the new rules only make it harder for the law-abiding segment of the population to get their medicine.
