Hey Yall',
Just recently got back from skiing in New York, and I am glad to say this early snow is awesome! Feel free to post anything about skiing, boarding, or blading.

Note: I ran a search, but nothing came up for "Skis". However, if there is a thread already, then feel free to delete this.

The Forest Service dictates when the others can open and close their seasons, which should be in a week or so.

On the afternoon of the first day (3 days planned) I was crossing over to Widowmaker trail on 3 Hook trail at a HIGH rate of speed. At the junction of the trails I encountered a field of those little ice balls that form when they rake an icy slope and upon hitting them the binding on my left boot broke loose and I lost the ski, which caused me to take a rather nasty tumble. Busted up my left knee pretty badly and it's never fully recovered.
I should have been more careful, especially knowing how icy the conditions were.
Be careful out there, brothers and sisters. Gravity always wins, the mountain always wins.

I wonder how things are in Denver. They were opening resorts back in October when I was there. Every mountain in that state is probably open now.

Usually, I manage to get out to Utah to board in my favorite undisclosed Utah powder location. I will not disclose this location. This is why is undisclosed and such. NO. |

I now detest the undisclosed elitist location near Snowbird, though I used to like it 25 years ago when I was ignorant and merely skied.

The mountain is open but conditions suck. They are expecting another storm this weekend which is good - we need more snow! |
