After reading T.R.'s thread about Carol Kaye's problems. I wanted to do something to try and help.
Carol Kaye and why we need help protecting our stuff....

I already have some of her books & DVD's and was thinking of taking some lessons from her. She does them via Skype.

I was wondering what kind of gear do I need to do this. I have a laptop & a PC. Both run Windows XP. Do I need a big buck web cam and mic? I would rather use my PC because it has a good audio & video cards and a big screen.

I feel this is something that could help out both of us.

you can get some small webcams with built in mic... Most of them connect via USB so the audio and video card make no difference!

before i got my iMac i used one, had a Logitech, always happy with it!

Webcams

The most important thing really is the quality of your connection! You really dont want to have any lag or you will go mad!

Cool, thanks. I like Logitech stuff.
I have Comcast cable with the biggest up & download they offer.

If you have good internet, then just get a good camera. Logitech and Microsoft have the best ones typically. Look for 720p resolution and you'll be good to go. Might want headphones too.

I don't know how her lessons work, but the higher rez webcam will allow her to see your finger placement, etc.
