Slingin' Sammy Baugh..... RIP

Sign in to disble this ad
Charter member of the Pro Football HOF.

He basically invented the passing game as we know it today.

His NFL CAREER punting average? 45.1 yds per kick. Unreal....

Perhaps the finest football player in Texas history.....

Here's a cool column about somebody all football fans should learn more about.

I read about his passing (no pun intended) a few days ago. One of the greatest players in NFL history. Led the league in passing, interceptions, AND punting average one year. Amazing.

Wow, I didn't realize Sammy was still alive. Absolutely one of the greatest players ever. RIP, Sammy.

Several years back, I was traveling and had to make a stop in a grocery store because I forgot something. I was making my rounds when I ran into a gentleman and in the course of making small talk, we introduced ourselves. Imagine how floored I was when I found out who I had been talking to for about 10 minutes! He was a really nice gentleman and a hell of a football player. R.I.P.

My dad remembers him speaking at his school in Midland in 3rd grade.
