so i've been on a "top gear" tear, watching old clips on youtube, and falling in love w/ ascari's, tvr's, atom's, and bowler's.
but other than shelby, what other small shop car makers are there in the US? |

They claim to make the worlds fastest production car. It has no relation to Carrol Shelby. Which i think is a tuner not really a maker.
There are lots of companies that tune like shelby ( Brabus, roush, tech art, lingenfeltor, venom....) but as far as Tesla http://www.teslamotors.com/ is the only thing i can think of.

...all well known US based tuners/race car builders who've also produced limited production street legal cars under their name at one time or another in the last few years. The Callaways I've seen are mostly Corvette based, but they definitely have their own thing going:
Google 'Vector W8' for one of the classic stories in American supercar annals too. Seems like they're always just about to start up production again.

Edit: Yes, they are ! http://www.avantimotors.com/ and their cars are still some of the most stylish on the road IMO. I love 'em! Built in Cancun Mexico now at a rate of about 150 per year.
