Alright I've recently moved to toronto, and I've become horribly disappointed by the number of guitar stores. Sure there is a handful of big shops, but by my standards it's quite few in number. I grew up in an area that was quite isolated with just 20 thousand people within a 2 hour drive. However we had one solid shop that sold for the full area. Now that I'm in a place 300 times the size, I'm dumbfounded by the lack of options. So I ask have you had a similar moment where you get just how eerily small this world is.
Well, that sounds normal. Small town served by one small music store. Medium town served by one medium-sized music store. Small city served by one large music store and maybe a niche music store. Medium city served by multiple small music stores and one or more large music stores. Large city served by one or two large music stores with a number of small and medium sized music stores in the suburbs.
Music stores don't multiply in a linear manner with the population like say grocery stores.
It gives you a reason to take a road trip to visit a small niche music store out of town.
