I think Horatio is funny, and that guy who is in anchorman (Eat the cat poop). He's funny, but the new cast does kinda suck.
So, what's with Sum and Ludacris... very Linkin Park and Jay Z... which is very Anthrax and Public Enemy.

Phil Hartman, Kevin Nealon, Al Franken, and Conan Obrien did most of the writing for that cast. Farley didn't even to do anything, you just look at the guy and start laughing. |

I turned the channel everytime the stupid 12 step character was on. I cannot believe they made a movie based on that twit (the character, not Al himself).
Farley had his moments... but I was more embarrased for him then taken by his humor.
Like said after my post... it's a generations thing. I use to catch SNL in the mid 70s when my folks left my sister and I with a sitter (they use to go out at least one Sat night a month). Then in the 80s I'd watch it when I wasn't out jamming on the weekend.
Also, I mostly stopped watching tv AT ALL by the time the 90s hit.... so I'm not familar with the less common (and usually funnier) skits. |

They've done funny stuff before, but they should stop w/ their current un-funny sillyness. Now.

Now. | It's interesting: ever since the original cast left, people have lamented the drop in quality of the show. If I had a nickel for everytime someone mentioned how much 'SNL sucks now', I'd be a billionaire. Indeed, if I had a penny for everytime I'd turned on SNL and was disappointed, I could donate my original billion to charity and still be a billionaire.
Hyperbole aside, the same people who lament SNL's fall are often the same people that turn it on every Saturday Night and keep the ratings high.
SNL is a TV institution, I doubt it will go anywhere anytime soon.

I like some of their spoof commercials. Robot insurance, oops i crapped my pants, the cookie dough sports drink one.....
I thought the 'more cowbell' thing was funny when I first saw it. Now I hear someone scream that everytime I'm at a large gathering of people, and I just want to strangle them. If 'All your base are belong to us' isn't funny anymore, then 'we need more cowbell' has reallly got to stop.

Then during the mid 90's that late 80's/ early 90's cast was pretty cool too, how could the show survive without Mike Meyers? Then in the late 90's the early-mid 90's cast was viewed as pretty cool, because the current cast was so lame... and so on...
Basically it comes down to the current cast and writers sucking and the previous ones were brilliant!
