They're calling for up to 20" tomorrow in Chicago, and a minimum of a 12-18" for us (Detroit area) for us starting Tuesday around rush hour. and I suspect the weather boys are right. I can feel the barometric pressure drop proceeding the storm as I walk out the door. This is one of the joys of being an old man.

Detroit gets a decent amount of snow but we haven't had one snow fall with more than 10" since 05. It could get interesting. Thankfully I'm off the road this time of year. Interesting I was hearing today that it's been over forty years since our airport has been closed due to snow. The last time Detroit Metro had to shut down was in the early 80's when NW 255 went down and all of their firefighting gear was allocated to the crash scene.

It snowed here over the weekend. Well not here, but up atop Mt. Baldy. It'll be gone by next weekend, most likely.

A lot of folks are already griping about some alleged snow in NJ tomorrow. Ugh, get over it already. It is winter. It snows in the winter. Wake up early to shovel your car out, drive slowly with plently of stopping room, walk carefully, and everything will be fine.

And NO, you will not run out of groceries before you can get dug out, especially in NJ. Worst case scenario, you can walk to a grocery store / market. They are all over the place.

Yeah, this might be one bad mutha. I went out to my bus stop, which is on Inner Lakeshore Drive (there are no buildings between it and Lake Michigan, only the Drive itself) and got smacked by 30-40 mph winds. And the way the cold hits my face today, it just feels like the pressure is dropping.

Oh the irony.... this past Fall, I can remember listening to the radio one time and the weatherman was predicting a much lower than normal snowfall amount for the winter...

we're usually spared the snow that the great lakes regions get but we just keep getting blasted over and over again. This upcoming storm is supposed to just sort of skirt us in central Jersey but what we're are supposed to get 'aint good either - some forecasters are talking about ice storms and mass power outages.

HAHAHA, I love the empty bread aisles in the local Shop Rite. It always looks post-apocalyptic just before a storm in my area

It's been a pretty modest winter in Chicago in terms of snowfall thus far. But the National Weather Service has issued a really dire warning for tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday morning. They're talking about white-out conditions and how traveling might get "life-threatening."

I love snowstorms... grew up with ones that frequently would get a foot and a half. Drove out to PA to go skiing last Feb. the weekend of that big snowstorm. Hometown got 25" overnight, and the ski resort had over 30". I just wish we'd get actual snowfall here in Columbus. We get some snow, and then it just melts again. Kind of disappointing.

I'll believe it when I see it. They said the same thing about a storm this fall that was supposed to rival the one that took out the edmund fitzgerald and it was a flop. Not that thats a bad thing, just am skeptical.

Weather foreskinners were predicting snow here last night. I took the dogs out for a poo before bed,...looked up and could see Orion clearly. If I want a weather forecast,..I'll look out my window,
