Snow Storm Hype

It's winter, it snows. In Michigan, the band canceled rehearsal last night for a snow that hit after midnight.

Shoveled the drive in about 15-20 mins.

Out east expect the wrath of God for your sins or sumpthin'.

Followed by death, depravation, eating your pets & children once you're cut off from the rest of the world. Throwin' furniture in the fireplace & all that.

Don't go out. Stock up on water. Stay off the street.

Wish we had facilities & professionals to deal with this stuff.

Good luck, nice knowin' ya!

Hype. Lots and lots of hype. The weather reports always give us a worst case scenario but this is ridiculous. I remember the blizzard of 78 and if they compare it to that storm again I may just barf.

I picked a bad time to get rid of Cable.
Good time for Netflix.

Whenever I see that is dropped around 32 degrees I turn the sprinkers on.
Then I hose down the street in front of my house.

I used to live in Maine. 2-3 feet of snow is quite a bit in 24 hours, but it won't slow them down much. Probably just cancel school for a day or two.

Oh wait.......today is friday.

I'm a meteorologist. I work for a web-based weather provider. One of our clients was complaining today that we're under-forecasting the New England storm compared to the other "news" outlets. I guess we'll see tomorrow who was right and who was hype.

You are a saint of a neighbor, making an ice rink for the kids. You should also dump dry ice into the storm drains along the street to create a winter-wonderland fog to complete the ambiance.

All road traffic is banned in the state of Massachusetts after 4:00PM EST today, except for emergency vehicles and the media. If you get caught, it's a $500 fine and a possible year in prison. After that announcement, they asked people to self evacuate on Cape Cod. Go figure.

As I understand it, if you go outside in MA death is eminent. In fact I can predict with a fair degree of certainty that if you go outside during a storm some time in your life you will die.

If the east coast snowstorm hit San Diego it would be about the panic equivalent to a 8.0 earthquake.

A 1/4 inch of rain is FLOODAGGEDON as it is.
