I'm already STOKED for the new season. Going to an area with major off-piste runs. Gonna be sick. Also, got a new board

I do, I don't get out a whole lot. Maybe 6-10 times a year and there are no good hills near me. I am back in Collage now, so I don't know how much I will get out this year.

I do. I'm looking forward to this season. It's getting cold early.

Used to teach for 5 years, until college kind of put the 86 on a lot of my riding time.

Would love to get back into it, and it'll probably be my last season on the trusty '06 Artifact with Cartels.

I snowboard a bit. 10 resorts within about an hour from my house. Mostly freeriding, though I have hardbooted a few times. Love open pow and trees as well as groomers. Used to take my chances in the bumps when I was younger. I tend to stay away from the snowpark freestyle crowd.

I like to think they learn with experience. Like keeping your ski tips up. I learned that one the hard way.

So what's boarding like in the US/Canada. What's the best area for off-piste? Best pistes? Best parks?

Depends what you want to do--although its generally accepted that the best riding in the country is out West, I don't think there can be any denying that the East Coast makes better riders

Well fill me in about everything there. I hear the snow is very much different than the snow in the alpes. And that the pistes are different too.

EDIT: I'm going here this winter: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1CfSpcl5Pg (don't mind the cat at the end of the vid)

Yeah... I used to be young and stupid, too.

I went boarding for the first time 12 years ago after skiing for 20 years. I haven't skied since.
