Geez, I thought I was going crazy because every time I saw his name it was spelled differently! You'd figure they'd have some sort of consensus on how to spell his name by now...

The man in question was an internet troll that kept getting banned, and then registering with a similar name, hence all the names.

I like to call him Mardy.

I figure if we give our celebrities lazy bastardizations of their first and last names we should do the same with our celebrity dictators.

That spells out Omar Gaddafi. His name is Muammar Gaddafi (could be a variation on Mu-omar Gaddafi).

I did that with Google Translate already

But if there's no consensus on the name, maybe we should ask the chap himself. He seemed fairly keen on doing interviews a while back; I'm sure he would oblige a request with regards to the authentic spelling of his name

In all the years that I've seen his name, the english and arabic spelling that I posted is how I've always seen it spelled.

+1 I haven't seen too much confusion on his name, either.
